[if there was one thing Elympions were really adept at, it was creating highly technological constructions and living the "high life" so to speak. after the schism dropped, this only increased due to the access to additional, if currently expensive, resources. and with Rieze Maxia also being rich with resources and willing to increase the economy, coordinating to create a fun place where both citizens could enjoy was easier than expected. had a few bumps along the way, of course, including whether the location would adversely affect the neighboring towns, but after several months of planning and clearing out the monsters, a large portion of the Kijara Seafalls had been converted to something like a water park resort. using the natural formations already existing, including the many waterfalls, the company in charge of this endeavor managed to recreate the setting to include natural made water slides and of course the many variety of natural and artificial pools—casual ones to just sit and relax, larger ones to just swim around, wave pools, and even a section for some heated ones.

technology wise, it's a combination of spirit artes, spyrix, and spyrites. the use of spyrix had been as minimal as possible, but their world isn't quite there with replacing it with spyrite. however, it has been designed so that the conversion would be seamless, and it helps that the park is indeed mostly naturally made.

so during the following summer of their last adventure, Alvin had received two tickets to its opening. a gift for being a Svent. although he isn't really "part of the family" anymore, he can't exactly say he didn't like the few perks that come his way. free gifts definitely were one of them. now the problem is...would he actually go? If so, who would he ask? or should he just give them both away? but even with those questions, he was already thinking, "Leia would probably kill to have these." and well, that made his decision for him.

and so invite her he did and here they are at the Kijara Seafalls Resort. the opening ceremony had been a "splashing" hit and the place is packed with a variety of people from esteemed invited guests to those who managed to purchase tickets to every day families who won the lottery prize. and a lot of kids. a lot of kids.

and like everyone else, he's dressed in casual swimming shorts, sandals, sunglasses, and a loose unbuttoned shirt.]

Well the lines are going to be insane, I can tell you that much. So what should we try out first?

[ because, yeah, it would suck to have to wait, and grabbing a shower does seem pretty appealing... she takes a small step back from the chair and then glances back toward her room. ]

Do you wanna call, or should I?

I can handle it. You go ahead first—but don't take too long, all right?

[slight teasing jab at girls always taking forever in the bathroom ~~he probably takes just as long~~]

Don't worry about it! I'll be done before you know it.

[ and she shoots him a cheeky grin before heading back to her room. ]

[he just chuckles a little before making that call and reservation, and then taking a shower himself. hooray for VIP suites and having separate bathrooms. again he's dressed semi-casually instead of the whole "business chic." no need for that when the restaurant itself is semi-casual.

once they're both ready to go, it would be about time for them to head out, and when they get there they'll find making the reservation was a smart move. because there's a lot of people.]

[ she's out of the shower and dressed pretty quickly, all things considered, and she takes a cue from him and dresses in a similarly casual (but still cute and fashionable) style— no need to get all dressed up if they're not going somewhere fancy.

and when they get to the restaurant, she looks pretty surprised. ]

I guess it's a good thing we called in ahead of time, huh?

[ she looks around, noting that there are only a few tables that are actually free, and then looks up at him. ]

I don't think we would be eating any time soon if we hadn't.

I thought this would happen. It's a new place after all, and from its looks and description seems to cater toward the younger crowd like you. [a slight teasing grin before stepping up to the main desk.

he had only given his first name, so no extra perks this time, but the room number does identify him as one of the VIPs. since they're pretty much on time, they don't have to wait too long and are ushered off to their table.

now sitting, he just looks through the menu again.]

Still, it's not bad. Seems lively, even without the crowd.

[it had a very aquatic theme, with an almost Mediterranean equivalent flair to the decorations. bright colors, upbeat music playing over the speakers, it had the sophistication of Elympios but the atmosphere of Rieze Maxia. it's no wonder it attracts the younger crowd from both countries, and from what he sat he could see groups from both countries mingling together.]

Yeah! It looks pretty awesome, if I do say so myself!

[ and she grins at him over the top of her menu. it's crowded, but the atmosphere definitely appeals to her, so she's feeling pretty pleased with herself for picking this place out. ]

All the food sounds great, too. Hm... [ she lays her menu flat, flipping through it slowly. then, something catches her eye, and she points to it. ] Maybe we should order one of these!

[ it's an appetizer with samples of both rieze maxian and elympion foods, and it looks like it's supposed to be something like a signature dish. ~~also. the waiter/waitress/whichever should mistake them for a couple when they order~~. ]

[he leans over and looks it over, reading the text.]

Oh, that's not a bad choice. I'm game for it.

[and then he's flipping through his and—]

Wait, check this out. There's a two for one sort of deal here.

[and then he's flipping his over so she can see.]

It has what you picked out, and then we can choose our entrees and a dessert for a discount.

[and since it's a discounted deal—well of course he would go for it.]

What kind of dessert should we get?

Ooh...now that's a tough one. Let's take a look at what they have.

[and pulling out the smaller, separate dessert menu, scooting his chair a little around so they can have a better look together, an action he probably does often whenever they're eating at some place. easier than trying to lean over all the time.]

Well they have a lot of different cheesecakes... And a few specialties. Looks like some volcano slide or something. [with ice cream and hot fudge and that thing is so huge he's not sure if he could even handle it.]

[ she meets him partway, scooting her chair closer when he does. then, she leans closer still so that she can take a look for herself. ]

Cheesecake sounds okay and all, but this one seems way better. [ the speciality, of course. she reaches out to tap her finger against the picture briefly. ] You think that between the two of us we could finish it?

[ because it is pretty big, but it also looks ridiculously sweet, and she can't say no to that. ]

I had a feeling you'd want to go for it. [he does sound wary though, but...]

What the hell, it'll be a while before we ever come back here again. If we don't finish, we can just take it back up.

Or we could just half of our entrees to save more room.

Hey, if it means more room for dessert, I'll try just about anything.

[ she grins over at him before consulting her menu one last time. all they need to do now is figure out their entrees and drinks, so... ]

I think I'm gonna have the seafood pasta. What about you?

You know me. I think I might try some of these ribs.

Aw, come on, you should at least try to order something more festive!

[ because, really. he could get ribs anywhere. ]

[aw come on, he wants meat!]

All right, all right...well this panfried bass and lobster doesn't sound too bad.

[also huge.]

That's more like it! It'd be a waste to come to a place like this and not get seafood, you know.

[ ... and check out that timing, here comes the waitress to take their orders. however, leia still hasn't picked out what she wants to drink, so she's going to. casually elbow him a bit. ]

You go first, all right?

[a slight roll of his eyes.]

All right.

[he gives the waitress a charming grin, though he does notice how she seems to be...eying them both in a rather curious manner. it's a look they sometimes got in other places. probably their current seating arrangement doesn't help.

but he just tells her their plan of doing the "meal for two" deal (did the waitress' eyes light up even further and is she actually smiling a little more?), and after ordering the appetizer, his meal, and the dessert (might as well, right?) he looks over at Leia.

and he gets a very mischievous idea. he slips an arm behind her chair and leans in toward her to ask in a somewhat cheesy way:]

So, have you decided what you wanted yet, honey?

[he has such a fox-like smile now it's a miracle he's not already laughing.]

[ maybe it's because she's comfortable with him, or maybe it's because she was absorbed in trying to pick out her drink (would it be better to go with something fruity, or something more serious? the eternal debate) but she doesn't even realize that he's closer until she hears him speak, and— what did he call her? "honey"? she looks at him, confused and a little red in the face, and then up at the waitress, who is staring down at her very expectantly, with a silly little smile on her face. ]

Uh... I'll have the seafood pasta, and one of these— [ she turns her menu around and points at a very brightly-colored drink, dressed up with slices of fruit and a paper umbrella, something very typical of her. then, she turns her attention back to alvin. ]

Did you order everything else already?

[ she's just. going to try to play it cool. because what even happened while she was looking at the menu? ]

[again trying hard to maintain his composure.]

Yep, gotten it all taken care of so you don't have to worry your pretty little head about a thing.

[and is he going to gently poke her nose? why yes. yes he is. and she can just see the gleam in his eyes and that all too wide smile indicating how hard he really is trying to keep that face.

the waitress seems to be eating it up. something about a charming older man with a cute younger girl just sends her heart aflutter. who knows what kind of imagination is going through the woman's mind. but there is a certain perk in her voice and step as she repeats the order, taps the pad with her pen, and then walks away.]

[ yep. he's up to something, and she's not playing along at all. she starts to puzzle together exactly what he's up to when she puts his actions together with how happy the waitress looks, and that. definitely doesn't make matters any better.

she watches as the waitress leaves and then immediately turns to him, aaand cue the overreaction. ]

Were you trying to make her think we're together? Because she totally did!

[aaand laughing as he leans back a bit. funny thing is, her not playing along probably made it all that much better.]

Relax—it's not like it's the first time. Remember that one cafe back in Drellin? We got a pretty good deal from it so I figured, hey why not try our luck here.

[he then has that mischievous grin as he leans his elbows against the table, steepling his hands.]

Maybe I should have said we're on our honeymoon. That would definitely have gotten us some bonuses.

There's no way she would've bought that!

[ but any bite that her tone carried before is replaced by humor. ]

I mean, for starters, who goes to a water park right after they get married?

You're telling me that you wouldn't consider it?

[and now resting his chin against his hand, just looking at her like he suspects that she really, really would.]

[ she only needs a second to think about that. ]

Well... yeah! I probably would. There's no way the waitress would've known that, though, right?
