[ with her latest idea for an article revolving around the different ways that people from Rieze Maxia lived, it was only right that Leia would need to do some legwork before she could start writing. even if she had been born and raised there, she didn't know all of the ins and outs of every city, and besides— research was an important part of journalism.

of course, even the best reporters needed ~~sidekicks~~ help once in a while so, naturally, she had decided to drag Alvin along on her little adventure. he wasn't bad company these days, and she figured he would be especially useful when it came to their first stop: Xian Du.

... which brings her to where she is now, knocking on the door to his room in Kanbalar's inn. ]

Hey! Are you ready? We should probably head out soon, you know.

[ she might sound a little impatient, but there's no real bite behind her words; even if they're out here on business (sort of), she's not that uptight. ]

[ and now they're at the elevator, so she'll hold that open for him before continuing: ]

Is that better?

[he chuckles as he enters and hits the button to their floor.]

Much.

[and then he looks over at her.]

How are you holding up?

[going to remove a glove and just place the back of his hand to her forehead.]

[ if she were feeling better, she would probably try to put up a fight or push his hand away, but she doesn't; she just stands still and looks up at him. her temperature is just about the same as it was before, though, which is probably a good thing. ]

Honestly, I'm feeling a little worse, but it's nothing I can't handle. [ she shrugs and then clasps her hands together in front of herself. if he's feeling observant, he might notice that she's more unsteady on her feet than before— she even sways just a little when the elevator stops. ] We're almost back, so I'll be able to get some rest soon, anyway.

[ and then the doors slide open, signaling that they've reached their floor. ]

[he's glad the fever hasn't gone up, but he does notice her legs being a little unsteady. just places a hand behind her shoulder as he guides her out.]

I'm guessing it's just a cold. I'll call the lobby and ask them to bring up some soup and medicine for you. You should probably take the bath first, too.

[ her first thought is to protest a little— he doesn't have to go out of his way like that for her— but she thinks better of it. ]

I'll take you up on that offer!

[ she sniffles a little in an attempt at staving off a sneeze. ]

... and, Alvin?

Hm?

[fishing for his keys to the room once they get there.]

I just wanted to say thanks. You know, for tagging along with me, and for helping me out so much.

[ both with her research and the whole being sick thing. because, teasing aside, he's actually been pretty nice. ]

[to that he just grins.]

Hey, of course. Besides, it's been fun. [except for her getting sick and all.] So thanks for inviting me out.

[since it had been her idea and all.

and the door unlocks and he holds it out for her to enter.]
