[ it's a few days after their trip to the hot springs, and leia has come down with a cold— it's nothing serious, just sniffling and sneezing, the occasional headache, and a slightly-higher-than-normal temperature— but considering all of the good things that the trip brought, it's a small price to pay. resolving the problems she had with alvin and taking the first (admittedly really big) step toward having a relationship together was probably worth a few days of feeling less than stellar.
especially since she can bug him without feeling too terribly guilty, since she's not just his friend anymore. that's still a really novel idea, given that this is her first real relationship, and she... may or may not have been taking advantage of that by talking to him a little more than usual. it's nothing too ridiculous— since she's sick and she can't drop by his place and bother him in-person, she's just been sending more texts and calls than usual his way— but still. considering how bad things had been between them before the trip, being able to talk to him freely feels pretty nice.
it's also something she does when she's starting to feel a little stir crazy from being cooped up inside. it's only day two of her cold, but calling into work sick and not having anything to do gets old fast for someone like her; she's quick to get restless. she's already jotted down some ideas for her next big article and talked to all of their friends about her new relationship (elize and elle wanted details, specifically). she's watched all of the shows she's behind on, done some light cleaning— which was probably a mistake, since it leaves her feeling worse than before— and now she's lounging around in bed, wrapped up in blankets and surrounded by a small army of pillows and stuffed animals.
so, naturally, she texts alvin. she'd call him, but it's closer to the middle of the day than the evening, and she's not sure if he's busy with work, so... it's probably better to play it safe. ]

Aw, don't be a baby about it. You know I'm just messing around! [ even if it is sort of endearing to see him get all pouty on her... and even if part of her is pretty sure that he's just messing around, too. ] If you really did get sick, I'd stop by your place in a heartbeat, no strings or Judes attached. [ and she laughs, this time at her own corny joke, before continuing: ] I'd probably skip out on the weird costumes, but I'd make sure you got better either way.

[He can easily imagine her actually going through with it, and both he and Jude would suffer for it.]
But the idea of having my own personal on-call nurse is a nice thought.

[ their date. she's still holding it against him. ]

It wasn't just a bump on the head! [ wait. ] I mean, it was, but it could've been something more serious, for all I knew.
[ old married couple bickering mode: activate. ]

[ now she's going to pout a little, because. wow. does he really have to blame her for that? ]
And it wasn't my fault! You fell on your own!
no subject
[Yep.]

[ her logic is the most sound. ]

[Is he being deliberately dramatic? Yes. Yes he is. But he makes it sound like he actually means with all the grump in his voice.]
no subject
Oh, come on! I was just having a little fun! [ even if he's being dramatic, she's... definitely falling for it. go figure. ] Besides, if I promise I won't let you fall next time then you won't have anything to worry about!

This is how much faith he has in that statement.]

lied to the party constantlyshot leia that one timehas made a lot of questionable life choices. so, she gives that look right back at him. ]What? You don't trust me anymore?
no subject
When it comes to skating and not admitting fault for your actions? Maybe.
[Is this seriously going to be their first "argument"? About an ice skating incident that happened before they even dated?]
no subject
That's totally unfair! I admit when I do stuff wrong all the time! [ except she... doesn't, actually. she opens her mouth to keep going, but instead of talking, she ends up sneezing— though, like before, she's at least fast (and polite) enough to cover her mouth and nose. then: ]
Don't hold one little accident against me, okay?
no subject
But she sneezes, and that's enough of a small interrupting to make him sigh.]
Anyway, I don't hold it against you or anything. [He totally is. Whether he realizes it or not.] I'm just saying—and how did we even get to this?
no subject
[ she shrugs as best as she can, given their position. then: ]
But nevermind that! That was our first fight, huh?
[ now they really are like a Real Couple™. ]
no subject
[He's pretty sure that if they want to count a fight, the ones during his stupid period would be more of a perfect fit.]
no subject
Well... yeah! I mean, I probably would've gotten pretty fired up if we kept going! And we definitely weren't agreeing, so it was a fight!

[ and she's too forgiving for her own good, all things considered, so unless he really screws up, he's probably safe... for the most part, at least. ]
no subject
I'd hope not, but I wouldn't be surprised if it went the other way around.
[As in, her getting that mad at him. He's kind of kidding, but, well. He hasn't set very good precedents, that's for sure.]
no subject
[ of course, she's also assuming that he learned his lesson after all of the trouble they went through to even start their relationship. ]
I guess if you hid something big from me I'd probably wanna yell at you, though.
