[ it's a few days after their trip to the hot springs, and leia has come down with a cold— it's nothing serious, just sniffling and sneezing, the occasional headache, and a slightly-higher-than-normal temperature— but considering all of the good things that the trip brought, it's a small price to pay. resolving the problems she had with alvin and taking the first (admittedly really big) step toward having a relationship together was probably worth a few days of feeling less than stellar.
especially since she can bug him without feeling too terribly guilty, since she's not just his friend anymore. that's still a really novel idea, given that this is her first real relationship, and she... may or may not have been taking advantage of that by talking to him a little more than usual. it's nothing too ridiculous— since she's sick and she can't drop by his place and bother him in-person, she's just been sending more texts and calls than usual his way— but still. considering how bad things had been between them before the trip, being able to talk to him freely feels pretty nice.
it's also something she does when she's starting to feel a little stir crazy from being cooped up inside. it's only day two of her cold, but calling into work sick and not having anything to do gets old fast for someone like her; she's quick to get restless. she's already jotted down some ideas for her next big article and talked to all of their friends about her new relationship (elize and elle wanted details, specifically). she's watched all of the shows she's behind on, done some light cleaning— which was probably a mistake, since it leaves her feeling worse than before— and now she's lounging around in bed, wrapped up in blankets and surrounded by a small army of pillows and stuffed animals.
so, naturally, she texts alvin. she'd call him, but it's closer to the middle of the day than the evening, and she's not sure if he's busy with work, so... it's probably better to play it safe. ]

I'm only gonna be up for a second, right? [ but she takes a seat on the couch, at least, drawing her knees up as she gets comfortable. he should be glad she's not sticking her nose into what he's doing in the kitchen and/or bouncing off the walls. ] Besides, I kinda wanted to be able to see you.
[ there. that's about as close as she's going to get to telling him she missed him. ]
no subject
But he does glance back at her before he finishes up and fully turns around to face her, grinning.]
Oh, you wanted to be able to see me, hm? Now you're starting to sound like a puppy.
no subject
[ now, excuse her as she stands and sulks back into the bedroom, flipping on the light as she goes (which may or may not be a subtle sign that he should follow her). he's done, from what she can tell, and he's picking on her, so she might as well get comfortable in her bed again. ]

I'm not being grumpy! You're just being a jerk.
[ so there. ]
no subject
[He has come into her room, but he's distracted by—]
Wait, you still have that?
[And now he's coming closer.]
no subject
Oh, this old thing? [ awkward... laughter... ] Yeah, I guess I do! That a problem?
[ it's not like she sleeps with it on a regular basis or anything. nope. ]
no subject
He moves to sit down next to her.]
Do you always keep it on your bed?
no subject
it had started out as a silly comfort thing when she first brought it home, especially since she realized that she had feelings for him right around that time, but now that they're together, it's a little different. instead of comforting her because she was dealing with a bad case of one-sided feelings (sort of), it's comforting because it reminds her of him.
... but she's not going to tell him that. ]
Unlike you, he doesn't hog the blankets or kick me while I'm sleeping, so it's pretty comfy!
[ is she making things up to get back at him for teasing her? yes indeed she is. ]
no subject
[It just rolls right off and is sent right back to her.]
But from the way you said it, it sounds like you also sleep with it at night. [Which is both cute and very amusing.] Do you try and pretend it's me? [And making it worse.
Leia what do you see in him.]
no subject
[ but the way she says it sounds a lot more like yes way. because that's exactly what she does. ]
Wouldn't that be kinda weird?
no subject
I don't know—is it? [Throwing the question right back at her. Standard Alvin.] But you know, you have the real thing now.
no subject
[ except she scoots closer to him so that she can lean against him just a little. ]
I guess the real thing's not too bad, either, though.
no subject
no subject
[ teasing her until the end of time? ]
no subject
I can think of a few things... [Is that his hand sliding behind her? Maybe.]
no subject
... lifts the frog from her lap and shoves it in his face, effectively separating them. ]
I thought you said you didn't wanna catch my germs!
no subject
However, he rolls with it.]
That is true—so I guess that means I should hand you the medicine and allow that frog to be my substitute this time.
no subject
[ and now she's going to put the frog aside so she can cozy back up to him, sliding an arm around him as she does. ]
The frog's a good replacement when you're not around to keep me company, but I was just kidding around when I said I liked it more than you.
[ so he can give her as much medicine as he wants, but she'll probably pitch a small fit if he tries to leave. ]
no subject
Aww, do you miss me that much? [He does put an arm around her to kind of cuddle with her.]
no subject
she leans closer so she can rest her head on his shoulder, and then she sniffles, bringing a hand up to rub at her nose before she continues: ]
What about you? Miss me lately?
no subject
But her question.... If he were honest, he'd say yes, but would he really admit that? He had never really been the type to miss anyone or anything except for his mother. But then all that changed over the past couple of years... While he doesn't think he missed her as much as she did him (moreso because of his own personality than any lack or less of feeling), it would be a lie to say he didn't miss her at all. After all, that whole debacle from before was proof enough that he missed and longed for her presence at times, made only worse with the then thoughts that he wouldn't really get to be with her as much, if at all given how badly he treated her. Now that they are together, that fear has decreased significantly, but there is still some of that doubt and fear that she might disappear on him.
However, this is Alvin. He may be more honest at times, and very honest when it comes to deep topics or certain intimate moments, but right now, he's going to be a bit of a mix of his old self and tease her first, not giving her the answer she wants right away.]
I might have missed you a little.
[At least the exaggerated way he says it should be a hint that he's just teasing her.]
no subject
Just a little? You're gonna hurt my feelings if you keep this up, you know.
[ first the comment about her germs, then the teasing, and now this. ]
no subject
Do you really need me to say it?
