[if there was one thing Elympions were really adept at, it was creating highly technological constructions and living the "high life" so to speak. after the schism dropped, this only increased due to the access to additional, if currently expensive, resources. and with Rieze Maxia also being rich with resources and willing to increase the economy, coordinating to create a fun place where both citizens could enjoy was easier than expected. had a few bumps along the way, of course, including whether the location would adversely affect the neighboring towns, but after several months of planning and clearing out the monsters, a large portion of the Kijara Seafalls had been converted to something like a water park resort. using the natural formations already existing, including the many waterfalls, the company in charge of this endeavor managed to recreate the setting to include natural made water slides and of course the many variety of natural and artificial pools—casual ones to just sit and relax, larger ones to just swim around, wave pools, and even a section for some heated ones.

technology wise, it's a combination of spirit artes, spyrix, and spyrites. the use of spyrix had been as minimal as possible, but their world isn't quite there with replacing it with spyrite. however, it has been designed so that the conversion would be seamless, and it helps that the park is indeed mostly naturally made.

so during the following summer of their last adventure, Alvin had received two tickets to its opening. a gift for being a Svent. although he isn't really "part of the family" anymore, he can't exactly say he didn't like the few perks that come his way. free gifts definitely were one of them. now the problem is...would he actually go? If so, who would he ask? or should he just give them both away? but even with those questions, he was already thinking, "Leia would probably kill to have these." and well, that made his decision for him.

and so invite her he did and here they are at the Kijara Seafalls Resort. the opening ceremony had been a "splashing" hit and the place is packed with a variety of people from esteemed invited guests to those who managed to purchase tickets to every day families who won the lottery prize. and a lot of kids. a lot of kids.

and like everyone else, he's dressed in casual swimming shorts, sandals, sunglasses, and a loose unbuttoned shirt.]

Well the lines are going to be insane, I can tell you that much. So what should we try out first?

Nope, I think I've had enough swimming for one day.

[ which isn't entirely the truth (even if literally being thrown into the deep end kind of makes her want to do something else for the time being), but that's not important, because she's reaching out her hand for him to take. ]

What, did me throwing you in there kill your drive?

[that. is something he hadn't considered and now he's starting to feel a little bad.]

Come on, it was just a little joke.

[okay, maybe not quite "little." but he does wind up lowering one knee so that he's more in a kneeling position as he reaches out to take her hand.]

[ is she smiling when she takes his hand? yes, she is. ]

[ and this is probably where he should realize that he's made a horrible mistake, because as soon as she curls her fingers around his, she puts all of her strength into pulling him in. she might be smaller than him, and he might be stronger than her, but she was trained by the best. ]

[HE WAS BETRAYED AND TRICKED.]

Gya—!

[and down he goes with a spectacular splash.

although he doesn't resurface immediately.]

[ divine retribution for the big fat liar...!

and it takes her a minute to realize he doesn't surface right away, because she's too busy laughing to herself. getting tossed in by him might not have been her favorite thing ever, but getting back at him was definitely worth it. when she does notice, though, she looks around quickly, to see if maybe he swam further away. then: ]

Alvin?

[ she didn't. drown him. did she. ]

[dun nuh... dun nuh... dun nuh duh nuh dun nuh—

as if on cue, she's going to feel a strong pair of hands grab her ankles and just yank her down underwater.

he won't pull her down too far, but enough so that for a moment there's Alvin right in front with her with a cheeky tongue sticking out at her before he smirks and pulls them both up to the surface.]

[ she squeaks when he pulls her under and, if it weren't for the fact that she sees him right away, she would probably be freaking out. because that's a really awful way to greet someone, okay.

and when they surface, her pout from before is back, though it's more joking than it was last time. ]

You couldn't just let me win, could you?

[he still has his hands at her sides as he just laughs.]

No, not really.

[he's just as competitive.]

[ she doesn't even seem to notice where his hands are— maybe it's because acting like this is natural, or maybe it's because she's laughing now, too. ]

I guess I can let it slide, since I got you back so good.

[ because at least now she's not going to be the only one who looks drippy and ridiculous? ]

[he hadn't noticed himself, likely for the same reasons.

if they were in shallower water where he could stand, he totally would have picked her up on his shoulders or something. but alas, he can't.]

Yeah, yeah, you did. For a moment I actually thought I upset you.

[a wry look as his hands move away so that one can give her a small splash in the face.]

No way! I'm not that sensitive.

[ she makes a face when the water hits her, and returns the splash with. maybe a little too much enthusiasm. because everything is a competition. ]

[he raises an arm to try and shield himself because jeez girl. but he just grins and laughs.]

Could have fooled me!

[and have a powerful splash back.

clearly anyone who is in the area is going to start moving away from these rambunctious overgrown kids.]

[ oh, it's on. she splashes him back just as forcefully as before, laughing all the while. ]

I didn't even seem that mad!

[ and, yep. anyone in their immediate area is moving away. the nearby staff also might be watching them. ]

Yeah well—

[what's the classiest way to end an "argument"?

by giving her one last splash before lunging forward and grabbing her, spinning her around in the water.

...so how bad would it be if he (accidentally) tickled her right now.]

[ it would be awful but. it should also happen.

and she doesn't get a chance to keep him from grabbing her, because she wasn't expecting him to get back at her like that, but she squirms a little when he spins her. ]

Hey, cut it out! That's cheating!

What? You want me to go faster?

[permission has been granted so accidental tickling is go.]

[ and even more kicking and squirming is go, combined with lots of laughter. ]

No way! I want you to let me go!

[this would have been so much more painful and difficult on normal land. hooray for water!

and he's just laughing until he chin accidentally hits the top of her head so. she'll get her wish at the expensive of both of them feeling some kind of head pain.

of course by this time the staff have started to come over to them. busted.]

[ oops. she rubs her head awkwardly as she moves away, and when she sees the staff coming over, she makes a face at him. ]

See, now we're gonna get in trouble!

[ which is clearly the most mature thing to say, right. maturity probably isn't going to get them anywhere, though, because once the staff get to them, they're asked to either leave the pool or quiet down, since they're disturbing the other guests. ]

Yeah, yeah, whatever.

[so he says with a slight eyeroll before the staff reaches them. he'll just, you know, apologize before kind of elbowing her underwater.]

So what do you want to do? Stick around here or try somewhere else?

[ she follows his apology with one of her own, and returns the nudge (even if she's a little less subtle about it than him). ]

Let's go ahead and try something else for now. I don't wanna cause any more trouble for them.

[ even if he was the one who started it— ]

[she retaliated and it just kept on going.]

Well there's going to be a long wait no matter what, so how about we just choose one of the attractions you wanna go on.

[look he's letting her choose as a sort of apology. sort of. not really.]

All right!

[ even if he doesn't mean it as an apology, she can still take it as one. so, she grins at him as she moves to the edge of the pool and pulls herself out. ]

I guess I wanna try one of the slides, or to get some snacks. Does that sound okay to you?

Hm...

[he hauls himself out after her, running a hand through his hair a bit as he makes his way over to where their stuff is.]

Eating before going on a slide might not be a good idea. Unless you're really hungry right now.

[though of course she'd suggest a snack.]

[ and she follows, naturally. ]

Oh, yeah. I probably should've thought about that first.

[ she digs a towel out of their bag lets her hair down so that she can start to wring it out before continuing. ]

I'm not super hungry or anything, though, so I guess our next stop is gonna be the slides!
